How recommendations work
We believe a recommendation you can't understand isn't worth trusting. Here's exactly how our fit engine works — and where you should use your own judgment.
What the score means
Your match score (0–100) is a weighted blend of six fit dimensions. It estimates how likely a boot is to suit your foot profile. It is not a quality rating of the boot, and it is not a guarantee — fit is personal.
How the dimensions are weighted
- Forefoot width22%
- Toe shape18%
- Toe-box room18%
- Midfoot wrap16%
- Heel lockdown14%
- Arch / sole12%
Measured vs. modeled vs. editorial
Known
Facts we hold directly — a boot's stated surfaces, material, and your own profile inputs.
Modeled
Outputs our engine computes by comparing your profile to a boot's shape — most fit scores are modeled.
Estimated / editorial
Judgment calls like arch compatibility, where real-world fit varies most. Treat these cautiously.
Independence
Recommendations are generated only from your foot profile and our boot data. Affiliate links, ads, and sponsorships have no influence on scoring or ranking. If a boot isn't right for you, we say so.
